Corgi installers. Many of whom are connecting parallel and tapered threaded fittings together and in some cases metric and imperial sizes (tapered threads are recommended for Propane fittings)

The parts of the gas connection kits for the kitchen appliances are made to British standards where applicable, approved by gas companies, and manufactured by BSEN ISO 9002 Companies.

 

There are 4 different kits for the following; (each kit incorporating 3 separate safety components.)

   (1) Metric Natural gas kit;  for connecting to 15 mm copper pipe with both a capillary and a compression fitting (for where soldering is not appropriate)

 

 (2) Metric Propane gas kit; for connecting to 15 mm copper pipe with both a capillary and a compression fitting (for where soldering is not appropriate)

 

 

(3) Imperial Duel gas kit suitable for either Natural gas or propane LPG.; for connecting to ½ inch copper pipe with both a capillary and a compression fitting (for where soldering is not appropriate)

 

(4) High pressure propane gas kit mainly for outside UK are made to order as gas supply details are required.(pipe supply and which regulator in use if any)

 

DOMESTIC GAS SAFETY is overseen across Great Britain by the HEALTH  and SAFETY EXECUTIVE (HSE) in a recent safety review they stated ; Domestic (piped and LPG) gas is very widely used in GB (about 21 million homes).  However, its increasing use over the years has coincided with an improving trend in the official statistics on gas deaths.  Whilst the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations (GSIUR) 1998 have provided a framework for improving safety in gas work, other factors such as improvements in the inherent safety of gas appliances will also have contributed to this trend.

  The author of this article Malcolm Ramsey worked with the HSE for a number of years when designing and constructing bottled gas filling plants, the marketing of his “GAS Cooker Connection kit”  with 3 safety features will be a further contribution by helping installers with a complete kit for installing (Matching parts with the same thread) and safety for premises as many gas leak  incidents are caused by the public when leaving home taking their cooker with the hose and hose socket with them, this leaves an open gas pipe.
